Speaking from the ISC-2 Media Center, H.E. Tep Asnarith stated that Cambodia’s hosting of ISC-2 from 26 to 28 August 2026 at the General Department of Taxation building in Phnom Penh represents a significant historic milestone for Cambodia on the international stage. He emphasized that this global-level event is being held under the theme, “Solidarity for Peace and Shared Prosperity: Strengthening International Law and the Peaceful Resolution of Conflicts.”

The Undersecretary of State stressed that hosting the Second International Speakers’ Conference (ISC-2) provides Cambodia with an important strategic opportunity to showcase its “Legacy of Peace” and highlight the country’s historic transformation from a nation that endured nearly three decades of internal conflict into one that has achieved national reconciliation, peacebuilding, and rapid development.

He further emphasized that domestic and international media serve as a vital bridge for delivering accurate, timely, reliable, and high-quality information on the activities and substance of the conference to audiences both at home and abroad. In particular, the media play an important role in highlighting the collective efforts of countries, including Cambodia, to address challenges and resolve disputes peacefully on the basis of international law.

Moreover, the active participation of citizens, particularly young people who represent an influential force in the digital sphere, in sharing and disseminating positive information about ISC-2 reflects exemplary civic engagement. Such participation contributes to building a positive image of Cambodia, safeguarding the country’s national prestige, and demonstrating to the world the peace and strong stability that Cambodia enjoys.

H.E. Tep Asnarith encouraged young Cambodians to actively participate in promoting the conference, stating:

“I would like to encourage our young citizens and our youth who are following this event to join together in sharing information from media outlets covering the conference. Please continue to share this information widely across social media platforms so that news and information about this international conference can reach broader audiences around the world.”

He further stated that the event also serves as a strategic platform for showcasing to the international community Cambodia’s strong political stability, rich culture and traditions, and significant economic potential, which he described as being at a level unprecedented in the country over the past 500 years.

He added that the event not only enhances Cambodia’s honor and national prestige on the international stage in the field of parliamentary diplomacy, but also provides an excellent opportunity to showcase the country’s culture and national potential while strengthening bonds of friendship with friendly nations and partner organizations around the world.

It should also be noted that Cambodia’s honor of hosting the Second International Speakers’ Conference stands as a testament to the Kingdom’s sustained efforts and unwavering commitment to contributing to the resolution of global challenges through inter-parliamentary mechanisms and solidarity among the parliaments of nations and inter-parliamentary organizations from all regions of the world.
