Ministry of Information Spokesperson: Cambodia-Hosted ISC-2, a Major Parliamentary Diplomacy Event, Attracts More Than 200 National and International Journalists

Phnom Penh: A spokesperson for the Ministry of Information stated on August 27, 2026, that the presence of more than 200 national and international journalists at the Second International Speakers’ Conference (ISC-2) serves as an important catalyst for transforming this major parliamentary diplomacy event in Cambodia into political and economic messages reaching audiences around the world, while also enhancing the international visibility of ISC-2.

H.E. Tep Asnarith, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Information, Member of the Sub-Committee on Information, Media and Information Technology for the Second International Speakers’ Conference (ISC-2), and Spokesperson for the Ministry of Information, said at the ISC-2 Media Center that more than 200 national and international journalists had registered to cover the conference.

Among them are more than 30 international journalists representing over 10 foreign media organizations and major international news agencies, including AFP, Reuters, AP, Xinhua, Kyodo News, EPA, China Media Group Asia-Pacific, VTV, VNA, and other international media outlets. The remaining registered journalists represent media organizations based in Cambodia.

H.E. Tep Asnarith emphasized that, in order to ensure compliance with diplomatic protocol standards as well as international-level security and protocol requirements, the conference organizing committee has established a technologically advanced Media Center to support the operations and requirements of all participating media organizations and journalists.

The Media Center will serve as a multi-platform information hub for distributing official information, content, photographs, and video footage to support the timely production and dissemination of news related to this important event. These materials will be made available to national and international news agencies as required, enabling broad distribution to audiences in Cambodia and around the world.

H.E. Tep Asnarith further stated that journalists working at the Media Center are being provided with comprehensive coordination and necessary facilities to ensure that their reporting activities are carried out effectively and that they have access to high-quality content, audio, photographs, and video footage for publication and broadcast.

To manage the activities of national and international journalists, the Sub-Committee on Information, Media and Information Technology has organized media personnel into different groups according to their respective functions. Certain groups are authorized to directly cover high-level events and programs involving senior leaders, while others remain at the Media Center to receive official photographs, footage, and information from the events.

H.E. Tep Asnarith further explained:

“We have organized media operations according to functional responsibilities and technical requirements, with a clearly defined structure. Designated media teams have been authorized to directly cover high-level meetings and key discussions and to transmit information, content, and visual materials back to the Media Center.

“At the same time, the Media Center, located across the ground, second, and third floors, has been structured according to different technical functions and is directly managed and coordinated by the General Department of Information and Broadcasting of the Ministry of Information.”

The Second International Speakers’ Conference (ISC-2), hosted by Cambodia, is being held on August 27–28, 2026. The Royal Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia selected the newly inaugurated General Department of Taxation building as the venue for this high-level international conference.
